New Features: Fast Setup and Intro Tour

After listening to our new users we have decided to introduce two new features that will assist in getting you and your users up and running faster with RoundhousePM.

Fast Setup

This feature allows new subscribers to create their account in only two screens. Once your account has been created you are free to customize the workspaces and invite users as needed.

Note: If you are familiar with RoundhousePM you may wish to use the Advanced Setup option found on page 2 that allows you to create workspaces and invite users during the setup process.

Intro Tour

To assist all new users of RoundhousePM get up and running as quickly as possible, we have added the Intro Tour feature. This introduction shows users the very basics of how to navigate RoundhousePM and explains the Workspace Summary page.

Intro Tour will automatically run when you create your new account, login as a first time user. It can also be played at any time by going to Help > Intro Tour.

There's been a lot of new things added to RoundhousePM in the last few weeks and we wanted to take this opportunity to tell you about them. As you can see below, many of these were some great suggestions by our users, so if you have an idea please send us an email at [email protected].

Daily Digest:

Users now have the ability to select what they see in their Daily Digest. Previously a user only saw open items that they were personally responsible for. We had the request from many Project Managers and Principals to see more information about their team and/or staff, so each user now has the ability to choose from the following:

RFI Module:

Images may now be attached to an RFI. Previously it was only PDF files.
We’ve added a new view to the main screen of this module called “Q&A”. When the rows are expanded it allows you to see the question, the answer and a thumbnail of any attachment. This view is very useful when issuing an Addendum and you need to officially document all of the RFIs that have been issued. Simply expand all rows and print the page.

Documents Module:

We’ve found that many firms require people put documents in a firm established folder system. For this reason we now offer the ability to create Predefined Folders that are created by your RoundhousePM Admin. To access this feature your Admin will need to create a new Documents Module then select the Predefined Folders option shown below. Once this is done rename, add and delete folders as needed. See image below.
Notifications now pre-populate the subject line of the email similar to what happens in other modules.

Task Module:

At the request of many subscribers you can now attach a file to a Task. So when you ask someone to review a document, you can attach the document you’d like for them to review.

All Modules main screen:

Default view is to show only Open items.
The number of records shown and the total number of records, is now displayed at the top of the list.
In order to display the data faster, Log Modules in workspace levels 1 thru 3 now show only the first 25 records and have a “Show More” button at the bottom. Workspace levels 4 and 5 always show all records.

Miscellaneous:

Improved page load time for Internet Explorer browser.
Added a menu item under User Preferences that displays browser and system information that can be provided to RoundhousePM Support.
Improvements to the graphic display of Daily Digest.
Improvements to the graphic display of the Workspace Summary Pages.

New Feature: Favorites filters!

RoundhousePM allows you to identify ANY workspace as a Favorite so you can easily find what you're looking for in the Workspace Explorer.

Now when you activate Favorites, RoundhousePM not only filters what you see in the Workspace Explorer, but it also filters the information shown on your SkyView Page, Workspace Summary pages, and/or within any module such as RFIs and Submittals. No longer do you have to be bothered with project information unrelated to you.

Below is an example from TestDrive of how Charles Fletcher's Skyview page changes when Favorites is turned on:

On the left, with Favorites Off, you will notice that the Workspace Explorer shows all the workspaces for these two pyramids, and the Skyview page is displaying all open RFIs for every project in both pyramids. There are so many RFIs displayed that the Submittals section does not even appear on the screen.

On the right, with Favorites On, you now see only the 2 workspaces Charles Fletcher tagged as Favorites. The only information shown on his Skyview page pertain to those 2 projects.
